Drifting is a judged exhibition sport and the organisers, Track Battle Pty Ltd, capitalise on this further to provide the best automotive entertainment in Australia, taking drifting from motorsport to “Extreme-Motorsport”. In short, each round will consist of practice and qualifying on day one and the tandem battles and other competitions on day two. ADGP also takes drifting to new heights with the use of new track layouts and custom built course, like the wall scraping, bank riding, tyre smoking action at the Calder Park Thunderdome.  Other on track entertainment includes the extreme entry competition and the Top-16 drivers parade.  Further off-track entertainment is provided with:

• Promo girls
• Giveaways
• Corporate viewing areas
• VIP viewing areas
• Kids rides

The Australian Drifting Grand Prix provides the complete package for an entertaining weekend for any extreme or motorsport enthusiast young or old. The 2012 series comprises of:

ROUND 2 – CALDER PARK THUNDERDOME, VICTORIA: JUNE 16th and 17th
ROUND 3 – MALALLA MOTORSPORT PARK, SOUTH AUSTRALIA: SEPTEMBER 15th and 16th 2012
ROUND 4 – BARBAGALLO RACEWAY, WESTERN AUSTRALIA: OCTOBER 27th and 28th 2012

OTHER FEES
You will need to pay an entry fee for each track day you attend. This varies between competitions and practices.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Your will need to pass scrutineering. To pass scrutineering you will need the following:
Approved Fire extinguisher fitted securely with metal brackets and an in date tag.
Tow point stickers.
Battery fitted securely and a blue triangle sticker on the body showing its location (in case of emergency)

Seat & Seatbelts to be secure. If using a harness it must not be past it’s expiry date.
ADR approved helmet.
Tyres to have decent tread.
You (and your pit crew to access pit lane) will need to wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants and enclosed shoes.

When did you start drifting and what got you into drifting?
I started about 2 ½ years ago, me and my mates heard about it and just started doing it. Then when events started happening at collie we were there to practice.

Where did you start practicing? Track – Street…
Until the tracks were available for drifting, we had to find other places to practice.

What kind of car did you start in/ why did you choose that car?
I started with an S13 Silvia. I didn’t really choose this car although it is well suited, I just happened to have it at the time I started drifting. I’m now driving the A31 Nissan Cefiro.

What competitions have you competed in? Best Placing’s?
I’ve competed in quite a few, some of them are at
AIR – Full Lock Round 3 (1st Place), Drift Battle Round 3.
Wakefield Park – Drift Battle Round 1.
Oran Park – Drift Battle Round 2.
A few smaller comps at Wanneroo(Barbagallo) Raceway (1st Place) and the collie motorplex.

Most admired person in the sport?
I don’t have a particular driver that I look up to, but the D1 drivers are very impressive.
