About Drift WA

Drift WA is based in Perth, Western Australia and is a free, open community for drift enthusiasts (spectators, hobbyists and competitors) and also hosted the infamous Drift Weekend Benders at the Collie Motorplex located in the South West of Western Australia.

Drift WA was started by a couple of locals in 2005 to unite the drift community and prove the interest and support for this motorsport was strong, ongoing and ever increasing – therefore showing its worth for local businesses and tracks to invest in drifting. We were successful.

Please head to the DRIFT WA FORUM for all the latest news, events, drift gear for sale, build threads and so forth.

So what is Drifting? Drifting refers to a driving technique and to a motor sport involving the use of the technique. A car is said to be drifting when the rear slip angle is greater than the front slip angle, and the front wheels are pointing in the opposite direction to the turn (e.g. car is turning left, wheels are pointed right), and the driver is controlling these factors.
